Common questions
Will I lose quality?+
Visually no — quality 92 JPEG is indistinguishable from the HEIC original at normal viewing.
Why does my HEIC file get rejected?+
Some browsers send HEIC with the wrong MIME type. We accept both MIME and the .heic/.heif extension to work around this.
Does it preserve EXIF (date, camera, GPS)?+
EXIF metadata is preserved when present.
Can I convert HEIC to PNG?+
Not yet — we output JPG since that's what 99% of users want from this conversion. PNG output is on the roadmap.
